The ministry stated:

  • A link will be provided early next week for parents to indicate their interest in having their child/ward vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.
  • Parents/guardians must also choose the venue, date and time of vaccination for their child/ward;
  • An appointment will be automatically generated upon completion of the online form;
  • Parents/guardians must accompany all minors to receive the vaccine;
  • Parents/guardians must walk with a form of identification, proof of relationship to child (where required) and an electronic birth certificate of the child/ward for age verification;
  • Persons authorised by parents to accompany students must walk with the letter of authorisation signed by the parent, a copy of the parent’s proof of identification as well as their own form of identification.

The ministry noted that the  link could not be utilised for the scheduling of a vaccination appointment for parents and other family members who are over 18 years and who are not currently attending school.

T&T received more that 300,000 of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines on Wednesday from the United States. It is expected that the US will donate 600,000 more shots of this vaccine.

The Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved by the World Health Organization for children 12 years and over.
