PRIME Minister and political leader of the People’s National Movement (PNM) Dr Keith Rowley has retained his position at the helm of the party.
Dr Rowley garnered 8,424 votes way ahead of his contenders Karen Nunez Tesheira, Junior Barrack and Ronald Boynes.
Nunez Tesheira received 345 votes, Boynes – 243 and Barrack –99.
The PNM’s internal election that took place over a three-day period and concluded on Sunday.
At the party’s 50th convention at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday, it was announced that the results will be revealed on Monday.
Stuart Young is now the chairman of the party taking over from Colm Imbert. Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly received enough votes for her to become vice-chairman.
Four positions were unopposed: Lady Vice Chairperson – Camille Robinson-Regis, General Secretary – Foster Cummings, Public Relations Officer –Faris Al-Rawi and Youth Officer – Jeniece Scott.
