Police Shells Found at Tunapuna Shooting

POLICE have discovered 11 spent shells at the scene of a shooting on Monday.

What has baffled officers is that the spent shells allegedly have Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) markings.

The shooting incident took place around 9.45 am at Sankar Street in Tunapuna.

Police were told by the 35-year-old victim that he was in his vehicle when another vehicle overtook him before stopping suddenly nearby.

He then observed a man in the passenger seat holding a gun.

Fearful for his life, he drove away while hearing loud explosions. 

He stopped a short distance away to inspect his vehicle for damages which he observed was done to his front door and front windscreen. 

The police were notified and the spent shells were recovered at the scene. 

WPC Kelly of the Tunapuna Police Station is continuing inquiries.
