THE Ministry of Health along with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) will be implementing stricter measures to deal with the issue of false Covid-19 vaccination cards.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said he was aware that some public servants may falsify documents in order to keep their jobs after January 15.

Speaking at the ministry’s virtual media conference on Wednesday, Deyalsingh said he held a meeting earlier that morning with ACP Williams and the chief executive officers of the various regional health authorities to discuss the matter.

He said, “We are instituting further controls and further measures which I would prefer not to discuss in the public domain at this time to do just that. To clamp down even further, more than we have clamped down currently on false vaccination cards.”

With just ten more days to go before workers in the public sector will have to adhere to the vaccination to work policy, workers who do not wish to be vaccinated are being advised to still show up for work by union leaders.

Deyalsingh did indicate that there was an increase in public sector workers becoming vaccinated and two sites have been designated to assist in that vaccination programme.
