Police Hold Cumuto Man in Jenny’s Shooting

POLICE have held a 48-year-old Cumuto man in connection with the shooting at Jenny’s on the Boulevard on Tuesday morning.

Police said the suspect was held at his home at Caratal Road in Cumuto on Wednesday afternoon.

The operation was supervised by ACP Belfon, Snr Supt Ramkhelewan and Supt Edwards and involved officers of the Northern Division and Western Division.

The officers did not find anything illegal at the suspect’s home but impounded a white Nissan AD wagon.

Jenny’s, a popular restaurant, located at Cipriani Boulevard in Port-of-Spain was shot at around 2.30am on Tuesday leaving bullet holes in the glass at the takeaway section.

Police said CCTV footage showed a Nissan AD wagon pulling up next to the business place just before the shots were fired.

Owner of the business Jenny Dan-Sharma said she was at a lost as to who would have wanted  to shoot her place. She said there was a similar incident on February 21.
