Police Hold 2 Illegal Venezuelans in Aranguez

TWO Venezuelans are detained by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force for illegally entering Trinidad and Tobago.

They were held during an anti-crime exercise on Wednesday.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Winston Maharaj, W/Ag/Supt Maynard–Wilson, Ag Supt. Alexander, Ag ASP Pariman, and coordinated by Sgt Bharat, and supervised by Ag/Cpl Majeed, and included officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force.

Based on information the officers went to a house at Branch Road, Aranguez, where they found two individuals, ages 19 and 28, both Venezuelans. They were detained for entering the country illegally.

They did not have any legal documentation to stay in the country.

They have been handed over to Immigration officials to determine their immigration status.
