Police Find Gun, Ammo at ‘Duck Farm’

TWO firearms and a quantity of ammunition were seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Western Division overnight.

The exercise was conducted between Monday and Tuesday by officers of the Western Division Task Force.

Police said around 4:30 pm, PCs Murray, Mc Clean and Sahadath, proceeded to an area known as “Duck Farm,” located at the corner of Cizan Trace and Blue Basin Road, Diego Martin.

After a search of the area officers found an Astra Pistol loaded with six rounds of nine millimetre ammunition and 160 grammes of marijuana, were found hidden on the roof of an abandoned structure.

The officers also proceeded to a standpipe in the area around 10 pm, where they found one silver and black pistol wrapped in piece of cloth fitted with a magazine containing two rounds of nine millimetre ammunition.

The exercise was organised by Snr Supt Kelvern Thompson, coordinated by Supt Henry and ASP Baird, and spearheaded by Inspectors Reyes and Grant and Sgt Carmona.
