No Water in Paramin, Maraval

FOR the first week of the new school term, parts of Diego Martin and Paramin, Maraval will have a disruption in their water supply.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) issued a news release advising that from Monday to Friday, customers in the Paramin/Maraval area served by Paramin Well #7 would experience the disruption as rehabilitation works are being done on the well.

“The works are necessary to complete rehabilitation of the well, to resolve a problem that resulted in a significant decline in water production at the facility,” WASA stated.

The Authority stated that it will redistribute water from other supplies within Paramin  and increase its water trucking service to supplement the water supply. 

WASA is also advising customers to arrange storage systems and to manage their stored water use efficiently during the period.

Affected areas include: Beau Pres  Road, Morne Cyril, Unity Street, Fatima Trace, La Finette Road, Winter Gardens, Saut Deau Road, Paramin Hill, Le Platte Village.

Supply is expected to resume at 8 am on Friday.

In Diego Martin, WASA said customers were already experiencing a disruption in water supply. This was due to a mechanical problem affecting one of the pumps at the River Estate Pumping Station. Major emergency repair works that are undergoing are expected to be completed by Wednesday.

Areas affected include: River Estate, St. Lucien Road and environs, Blue Basin, Blue Range, Water Wheel Road, Bagatelle, North Post Road and environs, Greenhill Village, Salandy Street, Upper Diamond Vale, parts of Diego Martin Main Road (North of Dillon Street).
