NCRHA Vaccinates 56,000

THE North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) has successfully vaccinated 56,620 persons.  

NCRHA’s Chief Executive Officer Davlin Thomas revealed those figures on Monday during the Ministry of Health’s media conference.

Thomas stated that 12, 922 people were vaccinated in the last week which brought the total number vaccinated under the NCRHA to  the 56,620 figure.

In addition, he stated that 1,410 persons 65 years and over received their first dose between June 16 and June 18. 

He said, “Sinopharm second doses are currently done at an average of 200 per health centre.”

Thomas said that 176 persons in homes for the elderly were vaccinated with their first dose of Sinopharm in the NCRHA within the last three days under the Elderly Express Experience which he described as  “a highly personalised VIP experience.”  

He said, “Sinopharm first doses were  being done via the Elderly Express Experience, at an average of 80 to 90 per health centres, in addition to the Sinopharm second doses. 

Thomas  added that at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) campus , the AstraZeneca first doses were being administered at the campus on Munroe Road, at a rate of 900 to 1,000 does per day.  

And in terms of oxygen based on projections from the NCRHA public health observatory, Thomas said, “We expanded by 30%, and we are currently running on a utilisation of about 50 % inherent capacity.”

He said eight health facilities under the NCRHA were providing vaccinations which included the La Horquetta Health Centre, Maloney Health Centre, Arouca Health Centre, St Joseph Enhanced Health Centre, Arima District Health Facility, Chaguanas District Health Facility, St Helena Health Centre,  and the Cunupia Health Centre.
