A five-wicket haul from Mohammad Nabi lead St Lucia Zouks to a six-wicket victory against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
Batting first on Thursday, the Patriots had a horrid start losing four wickets with just 11 runs on the board.
Ben Dunk steadied the innings with some skillful stroke-play to get to the top-score of 33 runs.
However, he was caught by Scott Kuggeleijn off the bowling of Rahkeem Cornwall.
Also contributing with the bat was Sohail Tanvir – 12 and Rayad Emrit – 16.
Alzarri Joseph was unbeaten on 21 as the Patriots set a target of 111 runs for the Zouks.
Four players got into double figures, Cornwall – 26, Andre Fletcher – 16, Roston Chase unbeaten on 27 and Najibullah Zadran with a top-score of 33 runs.
Imran Khan had a good day with the ball as he took three wickets for the Patriots but that was not enough as the Zouks reached the target in 14.4 overs.
Nabi’s five-wicket haul was enough to earn him the player of the match award.
With this loss, Patriots remain at the bottom of the table on two points.
St Lucia Zouks 111 for 4 (Zadran 33, Chase 27*, Cornwall 26, Imran 3-23) beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots 110 for 9 (Dunk 33, Joseph 21*, Nabi 5-15) by six wickets
