RE-OPEN the economy.

This will be the call to Government on Friday during a motorcade that is being planned by a group of individuals.

The event is carded to start at 10am and the meeting point is the Francis Seepaul Recreation Ground in Debe. Motorists will drive to Port-of-Spain passing in and around the Red House.

On a flyer that is being shared on social media, the flyer states, “To force the Government’s hands in re-opening TT’s economy due to the adverse suffering/poverty in Trinidad and Tobago.”

A member of the group that is not named told AZPNews.com, “People are fed up in this country. This is in no way politically motivated in any way. The drive is made up of small businesses, taxi-drivers, bikers and basically people who just wants to see businesses re-open.”

The person added, “This is not a protest. We are not doing anything illegal. We will not be stopping anywhere, there will be no congregating. We are doing nothing wrong by organising this event, everybody will remain in their vehicles.”

So far, already some 500 drivers have agreed to hit the road on Friday, the member said.
