YOUNG women play an important role in Science and have been encouraged to pursue more scientific fields by Member of Parliament for Mayaro Rushton Paray.

On Friday, Paray visited the Mayaro Secondary School to mark the United Nations Observance of the importance of Women and Girls in Science.

The MP spoke about the lack of participation of women in engineering and leadership roles globally adding that it was no fault of theirs, but the world order had created an unfair system that worked against them.

Paray encouraged the young ladies to study hard and diligently towards pursuing careers in Science and Engineering to assist in solving problems in the Mayaro Constituency and encouraged them to pursue careers in Green Energy, Environmental Sciences, Coastal Dynamics, Wind and Solar Energy Generation.

Those were all entrepreneurial opportunities that would aid in solving some of the issues plaguing the Mayaro constituency.

And Paray also presented electronic tablet devices to the top pupils in Mathematics and Science at the school.
