MEMBER for Parliament for Oropouche East Dr Roodal Moonilal is asking why government has not allocated a site to vaccinate children in the Penal/Debe/Barrackpore area.

In a letter to Education Minister Dr Nyan-Gadsby-Dolly on Monday, Dr Moonilal stated that those areas were highly populated centres in his constituency.

He wrote, “It is unfortunate that you have overlooked such large population centres, where thousands of residents ages 12-18 are keen on becoming vaccinated as quickly as possible. On behalf of citizens of these and surrounding districts, I hereby ask that the vaccination programme be made available at convenient venues in their communities. I look forward to this oversight being corrected as soon as possible.”

A copy of the letter was also sent to Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh.

On Monday, the Ministry of Education and the Health Minister listed the 14 areas in Trinidad where  the administering of the Pfizer vaccine  would be held.

The vaccine site nearest to the areas mentioned by Dr Moonilal would be at the MIC campus in Pleasantville, San Fernando.
