A 46-year-old mechanic lost his life in a daylight shooting. The victim, identified as Ryan Abdool of Southern Main Road, La Romaine, was seated in his Range Rover when an unknown assailant approached and shot him dead. The assailant made his get away in a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
According to police reports, the incident in Abdool’s yard, where he was parked in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. This was the 103rd murder in the country this year. For the corresponding period last year there were 112 reported murders.
In 2021, Abdool faced charges of larceny amounting to $298,780, relating to an alleged non-delivery of a vehicle for which he had received payment.

A video capturing the immediate aftermath circulated on social media. In the footage, a woman’s cries echo in the background.
“Oh God, oh God, where is my child? Where is my child?” she wailed.
