THE Kiss Baking Company recalls at least four products due to a possibility that a piece of plastic may have contaminated a loaf of bread.

A release on Sunday by its General Manager Rene Degannes stated that it made the recall on Saturday and this does not affect any bread in Tobago.

It stated, “It is highly unlikely that this (contamination) occurred, but out of an abundance of caution we removed all bread that may have been affected by the piece of plastic from Trinidad.”

The products recalled were:

  • All large sliced sandwich loaves;
  • Kiss Hot Dog bread;
  • Coconut bun; and
  • Healthy Balance wholegrain buns

Kiss stated that there was no possibility of glass being present in any of its products.

It stated, “Our manufacturing processes do not use any equipment containing glass.

“Our customers can be confident that the bread available in the market and at present in their homes is perfectly safe.”

However, the release from Kiss was silent as to whether any of the products listed above was sold and/or consumed.
