A MAN who fought for his gold chain was killed on Tuesday night.
Jimmy Thomas was shot and killed outside a bar in Sangre Grande around 10.26 pm on Tuesday.
A security camera video that recorded the events was widely shared on social media.
In the video, Thomas is seen standing outside the bar with a man who then walks inside.
Soon after, two men pretending to be customers entered the bar but then when Thomas was not looking, ran up to him and attempted to take his chain.
He fights them and attempts to escape and a gun is pulled out and fired. Thomas tries to escape again but the attackers shot at him eventually hitting him with a bullet to the head.
He died at the scene and the robbers escaped with his gold chain.
His murder is number 212 for the year to date.
