KATHRYN Stollmeyer Wight, philantropist and daughter of one of the most famous cricketers from the West Indies, has passed away. She was 66.
Tributes poured in as many mentioned her contributions to Trinidad and Tobago. She also worked as a flight attendant for BWIA and was involved with Habitat for Humanity.

“Throughout her life, Mrs Wight, better known to many as Aunty Kathy, has accomplished so much, but we believe her accomplishments as one of our twin islands leaders in Humanitarian work sets her far above and beyond.
He daughter Sophie said she has transitioned on. She said, “This amazing woman, this kind soul, this inspiration. She brought so much beauty and purpose into this world, and now she has left it. We are heartbroken, but we are grateful, because we knew her.”
Kathryn was the daughter of Jeffrey Stollmeyer, a West Indies cricket captain, administrator and businessman.
In a interview published on AZP News in October 2020, Kathryn said she was battling pulmonary fibroses, a lung disease, that also claimed the life of her mother Sara.
Her father died in 1989 after being shot nine times in a home invasion.
Kathryn said she was born in Bourg Mulatress in Lower Santa Cruz in 1956 and descibed it as the “sweetest place.”
On Facebook, the Angelo Bissessarsingh’s Virtual Museum of T&T stated, “The ABVMOTT Community has been plunged into deep mourning at the passing of Kathryn Stollmeyer Wight, a family friend and loyal supporter and foundation member of Virtual Museum. The Bissessarsingh family cannot express the sadness we feel at this time.”
Nicole Dyer Griffith said, “I typed, and deleted almost a million times. Not sure which memory to share, which story to reveal, which ……..You never told me NO, not even for the things you had never attempted.
