JACK Warner, former minister of works and transport and FIFA vice president, has tested positive for Covid-19.
Warner, 77, had complained of feeling ill last weekend and was taken to Westshore Private Hospital, sources said.
The former political leader of the Independent Liberal Party (ILP), the party he founded recently contested the general election for the Lopinot/Bon Air West constituency.
His last public social media post was on August 20, thanking all who supported him in the election saying that he was grateful for his years in politics and that he would be bowing out of the political arena but will still be ardently observing its developments.
Warner had returned home but was taken back to Westshore on Tuesday where he received a positive Covid-19 test.
Health sources said he was currently warded at the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility.
