MUMBAI – INDIA have taken the T20 series with a blistering 67-run win against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Coming into the match with the series tied one-a-piece, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and sent India in to bat.

The openers laid the foundation with a 71 from Rohit Sharma and a man-of-the–match performance from KL Rahul who blasted 92 from 56 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes.

India captain Virat Kohli made 70 off just 29 balls that included 4 fours and 7 sixes. Rishabh Pant made duck caught by Jason Holder off the bowling of Pollard.

The No 5 batsman Shreyas Iyer did not face a ball and thus it meant that India only needed three batters – Sharma, Rahul and Kohli- to get them to 240 for 3 in their 20 overs.

West Indies got to 173 for 8 off their allotted 20 overs with only Shimron Heymyer (41) and Pollard (68) making any significant contribution to the target.
