Friday’s Forecast: Significant Saharan Dust, Hazy with Showers

THE adverse weather alert has been discontinued. However, gusty winds and street/flash flooding may occur in the event of heavy showers or thunderstorms.

FORECAST: Mostly fair and hazy despite occasional partly cloudy interruptions with showers in varying areas. There is a 30-40% (low-medium) chance of heavy showers or isolated thunderstorm activity in a few areas, particularly over Trinidad. Mostly fair night despite brief showers in a few areas.

The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Generally fair and hazy with brisk showers in a few areas.

Caution: There is a significant concentration of Saharan dust present in the atmosphere. Persons sensitive to this change in air quality should take necessary precautions.
