FEEL Helps 100,000 Families at $33M

THE Foundation for the Enhancement and Enrichment of Life (FEEL) provides assistance to 100,000 families at a cost of $33 million in 2022.

A release by FEEL on Sunday, stated that it consistently provided support to its non-profit organisation partners across in Trinidad and Tobago and in 2022 provided foodstuff, toiletries, cleaning and hygiene supplies, clothing, medical supplies, wheelchairs, school supplies, furniture and agricultural tools.

It stated that FEEL’s bi-monthly distribution activities accommodated an average of 100 NPO partners on each occasion to assist over 100,000 T&T families with staple foodstuff this year.

The release stated, “FEEL is mindful that we are filling an important need in our society, and we note the demand is on the increase. Of equal importance has been FEEL’s distribution to schools; for example, in March as partners in a joint reading campaign, FEEL presented 3,000 reading books to primary schools in Brazil, Monte Verde, Talparo, Las Lomas and Rancho Quemado.

“From August to December 2022, the country was adversely affected by flash-flooding across the eastwest corridor, the central plains and the south-eastern areas of Trinidad.”

It stated that the Disaster Management Units from the impacted Regional Corporations with disaster relief items.

FEEL stated that it emergency distribution schedules contributed to the national clean-up and the provision of relief supplies for hundreds of households.

It stated that on one occasion, FEEL assisted more than 1,500 households with foodstuff and cleaning supplies in the aftermath of severe flooding.

FEEL stated, “We acknowledge the support through the year from our international partners at Food for the Poor and the Latter-Day Saints, as well as the donations and financial contributions from our members in the FEEL 1000 Club and the corporate community.”

It stated, “We are on track for next year’s Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday 21st May 2023. We have also had changes in leadership.”

The release noted that Wendell Constantine replaced Elena Villafana-Sylvester and welcomed as CEO of FEEL.
