DR FAITH B.YISREAL is the new deputy chief secretary-elect of the Tobago House of Assembly.
In a brief special sitting of the House on Monday, B.Yisreal was nominated by Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and her nomination was seconded.
Her appointment follows that of the resignation of former deputy chief secretary Watson Duke.
Duke who was also present at the meeting was also nominated for the position but not seconded by an elected member of the House.
Presiding Officer Abby Taylor informed Dr Yisreal that provisions will be made for her to travel to Trinidad to receive her oath of office from President Paula Mae-Weekes.
Weekes is currently attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in England.
Dr B.Yisrael is the elected representative for Belle Garden/Glamorgan and is also the Secretary of the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection.
