It was a six-wicket win for the Trinbago Knight Riders in a rain-affected match against St Lucia Zouks as the Duckworth/Lewis System came into play.
In the end TRK had to get 72 runs in nine overs.
But the day went to Man of the Match Dwayne Bravo who became the first player to take 500 wickets in T20 cricket. He achieved the milestone when he got Rakeem Cornwall brilliantly caught by Colin Munro. He also has 100 wickets in the CPL.
The Zouks started off their innings at the Queen’s Park Oval but wickets fell at regular intervals with openers Andre Fletcher and Cornwall contributing 10 and 18 respectively.
Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi meanwhile were the only players to get past 20 runs, Nabi ending unbeaten with a topscore of 30 runs.
Zouks was restricted to 111 for eight, in 17.1 overs.
Bravo was the pick of the bowlers taking two wickets for seven runs at an economy rate of 2.33.
TKR, chasing 72 runs in nine overs, lost wickets in quick succession but Colin Munro and Darren Bravo steadied the innings with some skillful batting before Munro was gone for 17, off the bowling of Kesrick Williams.
Bravo (DM) stood his ground and was well supported by Tim Siefert as they raced to victory with one over to spare.
Coincidentally, in his 500 T20 wickets, Bravo has dismissed his current skipper Kieron Pollard more times (nine) than any other batsman.
Trinbago Knight Riders 75/4 (DM Bravo 23*, Seifert 18*, Munro 17; Williams 2/17, Nabi 1/15, C Holder 1/24) beat St Lucia Zouks 111/6 (Nabi 30*, Najibullah 21, Cornwall 18; DJ Bravo 2/7, Tambe 1/15, Pierre 1/19, Fawad 1/21) by 6 wickets (DLS target 72 off 9 overs).
