ELECTRICITY supply in several parts of Trinidad and Tobago has still not been restored in some areas following the bad weather over the past few days.
In an update on Saturday, the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) said that while restoration works continued assiduously, there have been some delays caused by intermittent rain and fallen trees remaining in some locations.
Significant progress was made on Friday night in most areas, however the eastern area still has a large number of outages, particularly in Sangre Grande and Arima.
T&TEC again apologised for the inconvenience and advised that the call centre was still experiencing high call volumes and there may be delays in response.
Large areas still without power at midday on Saturday were: Belmont, Biche, Claxton Bay, Arima, Delaford, Blanchisseuse, Cocoyea, Cunupia, Arouca, Glen Road, Diego Martin, Fyzabad, Carlsen Field, Guaico, Idle Wild, Maraval, Penal Carapichaima, Sangre Grande, Mason Hall, Morvant, Piparo, St Joseph, Pentlands, Santa Cruz, Siparia Talparo, Pembroke, San Juan, Tabaquite, Toco, Roxborough, St Anns, Valencia, Petit Valley and Wallerfield.
