CRICKET heartthrob Ali Khan apologises to his family for appearing in a music video with Trinidad and Tobago soca diva Destra Garcia.

And cricket superstar Dwayne Bravo has also apologised for the situation saying he was the one who arranged for Khan to be in the video as a favour to his good friend Destra – known as the Queen of Bacchanal.

Khan also admitted that he saw the video before it was released, but did not realise that it would have been “too much for my family.”

In the video for the song Me Gusta, Khan is seen on the iconic Maracas Beach barebacked and in one scene he and Destra hugs.

In a social media post, Khan, who plays in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), for the local franchise the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), said he wanted to clear the air about the video.

He said, “The purpose of making this video was not to hurt anyone including my family.

“I did see the final version of the video before releasing which Destra sent it to me. I was okay with it at that point.

“But I did not realise that it would be too much for my family and I did apologise to my family as well.

“So I just want to urge people please stop posting negative stuff on social media and please respect our privacy and please stop this now and move on from this.”

And TT cricket hero Bravo, who was responsible for bringing Khan to the CPL to play for TKR, also took to social media to apologise.

Bravo said, “First of all I just want to apologise. I heard about Ali and the video. From the bottom of my heart, I am really sorry.

“The person is a very good friend of mine, the singer, back in Trinidad. Because …of the love the people of Trinidad have for Ali, she requested if it’s possible to have him make an appearance in her music video which Ali was okay with..

“But obviously after the fact the video did not come out the way Ali wanted it. He told me and he shared his concerns that he was very upset and his dad and family is disappointed in him and I want to take responsibility because he really wanted to do a favour for me because like I said, the person is a very close friend to me and I want to apologise.

“I want you to please forgive him he is a very talented young man who loves his family and I encourage you that you will get over this and I apologise again and if you have any other concerns you can reach out to me.”
