Covid-19 Deaths Decrease for 3rd Day

FOR a third consecutive day, Covid-19 deaths decreased in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1001) on Tuesday reported four deaths due to the coronavirus.

Twelve deaths were recorded on Saturday, seven on Sunday, five on Monday and now four.

On Tuesday, the ministry also reported 376 new positive cases.

The  4 deaths included:

  • 2 elderly men;

  • 1 elderly woman; and

  • 1 middle-aged woman

All four had multiple comorbidities which included diabetes, hypertension, thyroid diseases, and dementia.

Deaths: 3,535

Total deaths by vaccination status as at February 10, 2022: 2, 887 (not fully vaccinated), 224 (fully vaccinated), 390 prior to the vaccination programme.

Patients in hospital: 404

Total persons fully vaccinated: 698,274

Total persons not fully vaccinated:701,726

Boosters administered: 123, 297

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 12,550 or 83.8%,  while 2,427 or 16.2% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021, to January 26, 2022.

February 1: 8 deaths, 470 cases;

February 2: 11 deaths, 660 cases;

February 3: 10 deaths, 638 cases;

February 4: 15 deaths, 581 cases;

February 5: 6 deaths, 867 cases;

February 6: 6 deaths, 505 cases;

February 7: 7 deaths, 573 cases;

February 8: 19 deaths, 926 cases;

February 9: 9 deaths, 756 cases;

February 10: 6 deaths, 738 cases;

February 11: 6 deaths, 963 cases;

February 12: 12 deaths, 777 cases;

February 13: 7 deaths, 382 cases;

February 14: 5 deaths, 510 cases;

February 15: 4 deaths, 376 cases
