POLICE are once again warning the public about purchasing items from people they connect with online.
It comes after a Caroni man was fleeced when he made arrangements to buy a television he saw on sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Police said after making contact on the site, the man met the suspect on September 19 at Mission Road in San Juan.
The victim arrived at the scheduled meeting place and handed over the cash and the suspect said he was going to get the television from a nearby house.
The suspect never returned and the man made a report to the police.
