CAMOUFLAGE clothing and a quantity of marijuana were seized in St Ann’s by police officers on Thursday.

Police reported on Friday that the items were seized by officers of the Belmont Operations Unit during an anti-crime exercise between the hours of 8.30pm and 11pm.

Based on information received, the officers went to Fondes Amandes, St. Ann’s, where they attempted to apprehend two men believed to be in possession of arms and ammunition and narcotics. However, the men escaped by running into a forested area. A search of the vicinity revealed a black plastic bag which contained a camouflage pants and jersey and four clear plastic packages, each containing plant like material resembling that of marijuana. The narcotics had a combined weight of 2,831 grammes.

The exercise was coordinated by ASP Walker, spearheaded by Insp Rajkumar and conducted by Sgt Parris and members of the Belmont Operations Unit.
