In March, when the first case of corona virus was recorded in Trinidad and Tobago (TT), the government took a decision to close bars and other non-essential services to stop the spread of the virus.

As the number of Covid-19 cases decreased, government again decided to phase in the reopening of bars with a closing time of 6pm in the first instance and then at 8pm.

Deyalsingh said, “Having noted the surveillance of bars over the past few weeks, where we feel that now the time has come for bars to now revert to their 10pm closing time, we are asking again as we do this measure that both patrons and bar owners use the opportunity to continue to play their part in operating and behaving and using these facilities responsibly.”
