Attempted Kidnapping of 12-year-old Girl in Point Fortin

POINT FORTIN – A 12-year-old primary school student is almost kidnapped in Point Fortin on Wednesday.

Police said the pupil of the Fanny Village Government Primary School as walking along the Cape-de-Ville Main Road when a pick-up truck pulled up alongside her.

Reports indicated that a men then tried to pull the girl into the vehicle and she began to scream.

The driver drove away and the girl was taken back to her school by people who came to her rescue.

The girl’s mother was contacted and they were both taken to the Point Fortin Police Station.

Police have arrested a 23-year-old suspect of Cap-de-Ville and his vehicle was impounded.

WPC Rouse is conducting investigations which are being spearheaded by Senior Supt Cecil Santana. Also assisting with investigations are Supt Farley and PCs Charles and Scott.
