Another Record 37 Covid-19 Deaths…

THIRTY-SEVEN more people have died due to Covid-19 on Saturday.
It is the second time this figure, the most for a day, has been reported since March 2020 when the pandemic started in Trinidad and Tobago.On Christmas Eve last year, 37 deaths due to Covid-19 were also reported.

It means that the first eight days of 2022 have recorded 178 deaths due to Covid-19, an average of 22.25 per day.

The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#963) also reported 485 new positive cases.

It also reported that 88,083 boosters have been administered while 48.2% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.

Active cases: 16,063

Deaths: 3,047

Total deaths by vaccination status: 2, 487 (not fully vaccinated), 170 (fully vaccinated), 390 prior to the vaccination programme.

Patients in hospital: 600

Total persons fully vaccinated: 674,197

Total persons not fully vaccinated: 725,803

Boosters administered: 88,083

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 9,607 or 86%,   while 1,570 or 14% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021 to December 22, 2021.

For the year 2022:

January 1: 14 deaths, 302 cases;

January 2: 31 deaths, 458 cases;

January 3: 22 deaths, 338 cases;

January 4: 15 deaths, 637 cases;

January 5: 22 deaths, 579 cases;

January 6: 19 deaths, 883 cases;

January 7: 18 deaths, 974 cases;

January 8: 37 deaths, 485 cases.
