THE Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) issues an adverse weather alert Yellow Level from Sunday at 2 am to 6pm.
TTMS stated, “There is a high chance (70%) that thunderstorm activity and heavy showers are expected from the early morning hours of Sunday 29th August, 2021, to affect various parts of Trinidad and to a lesser extent, Tobago, as well as surrounding marine areas. Cloudy conditions, scattered showers and periods of rain are expected to persist during the morning and into the early afternoon.”
In addition, street flooding, localised flooding, landslips, gusty winds in excess of 45 km/hr and choppy seas are likely in areas under heavy showers or thunderstorms, TTMS stated.
The public is urged to monitor the Met Office for weather updates from official sources via www.metoffice.gov.tt and www.odpm.gov.tt.
