IF you have a viral illness, there is a 50% chance you may have Covid-19.
This is according to Chief Medical officer Dr Roshan Parasram.
He said, “If you have a viral illness in the country at this point in time, there is possibly a one in two chance of it being Covid.”
Dr Parasram was speaking at the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 update on Saturday.
He added that if persons could actually see the virus all around, the population will take a lot more precaution especially as with the Delta variant, there was a lot more asymptomatic spread.
He again cautioned sick persons to remain at home.
Dr Parasram said, “If you are ill stay at home. We are getting a lot of complaints of people some of them even being positive and going out to supermarkets and other places. We really want you to stay at home, that is one of the ways we are getting spread, from one person to the next.”
