This according to statistics presented by Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram at the Health Ministry’s virtual media conference on Saturday.
To date, a total of 243 persons have tested positive, with 18 confirmed overnight.
Based on the CMO’s presentation, TT’s first wave of the virus was from March 11, when the first infection was confirmed, to April 26.
The data showed that 58.6% of Covid-19 patients were women.
In the second wave, April 27 to August 7, men were the majority of patients.

Not only was there a shift in the gender demographic but also in the age group.
In the first wave, the average age of patients was 55 years while now, persons most affected include children, those in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
