THIRTEEN contestants take part in the Soca Chutney Monarch (CSM) finals at Skinner Park on Friday.
Reigning monarch GI is being challenged by a number of new comers such as nine-year-old Katelin Sultan and veteran Kenneth Supersad.
Katelin placed second in the 2023 Schools’ Intellectual National Carnival Chutney Soca Monarch Competition at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Wednesday. She captured the people’s choice award.
The show, being put on by Southex, is free to the public and will pay tribute to icon the late Anil Bheem who passed away on February 4.
All preparations were being done on Friday for the 8 pm start.
Viewers can text for their favourite contestant via the artiste code to 64726. Voting began at 6 am on Friday and ends at 1 am Saturday.
