Montano was giving fans a preview of his song Shake The Place remixed with “one of Trinidad’s finest” Destra Garcia and Trinidad-born rap celebrity Nicki Minaj.

During a short performance, he called up Sultan to share the stage with him.

Afterwards, he sang her Happy Birthday and wished her all the best in the CSM finals.

In a video he posted on social media, he said, “I endorse this, because this is not too young to soca, not too young to chutney soca.”

Sultan is the youngest competitor to make it to the Chutney Soca Finals after competing against 28 other contesters including her father, Neeshad Sultan to secure her spot in the final round of the competition.

Her mother Kerryann Sultan told AZP News that meeting Montano was the highlight of Katelin’s birthday so far and the only thing that could top that is if she secures the CSM crown tonight.

She said Katelin was asked to perform at Machel’s concert that also takes place tonight but could not due to the date of the CSM final.

But with his endorsement, Katelin will be going on stage even more confident to deliver her song “Tell them Ah Ready.”

Katelin, a Standard Two pupil of the Warrenville TIA Primary School took the day off from school but visited her principal, teachers and classmates who all wished her success in tonight’s competition.

For her birthday, her mother said she was having a “yes day” and she wanted to go shopping for clothes and shoes and a visit to a pet store.
