The People’s National Movement has expressed its thanks to a bodyguard and those responsible for the rescue of Ferdie and Pearl Ferreira.
In a release on Monday, the PNM stated, “The party has been in contact with the family, and we are advised that they are understandably shaken.
“We wish the Ferreiras a swift and complete recovery.
“The Party’s Welfare Officer Joycelyn Bodden is leading the party’s support of and outreach to our stalwart and his wife.
“We ask the nation to join the PNM in thanking God for preserving their lives, and we continue to lift them our prayers.”
Ferreira, a PNM stalwart, and his wife were washed away in flood water in Chaguaramas last Thursday.
They were rescued by Michael Gomes, head of security and bodyguard for prominent businessman Davy Boodoosingh, and other people.
