NINE illegal Venezuelans who were detained in Palo Seco on Sunday have been tested for Covid-19.
On Sunday, officers of the Santa Flora Police Station got a tip-off from an anonymous caller that immigrants were seen on a boat at the Palo Seco Beach.

They proceeded to the area and saw the Venezuelans – two adults, four teenagers and three young children, coming off a small wooden vessel.
On seeing the officers, the driver sped off and escaped.
The immigrants were detained, taken to the Police Station and transferred to the Siparia Health Facility for Covid-19 screening.
They were then transferred to the Erin Police Station where they are currently being held.
