FOUR people in south are arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
They were held during an anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division, police reported on Monday.
During the exercise conducted between 4pm and 10pm on Friday, officers proceeded to a house at Thackorie Street, San Fernando, to execute a search warrant for firearms and ammunition.
A firearm, outfitted with a magazine and four rounds of 9mm ammunition, were found in an open area. Four persons who were found at the premises were arrested.
In another incident, officers acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area along Ethel Street, La Romaine, where they found and seized a firearm, a magazine, and eight rounds of 9mm ammunition in a plastic bag.
No one was arrested.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Lucia Winchester, Supt Carthy, ASP Ramdass, and Insp Phillip.
