SANTA CRUZ – Three young men have been shot and killed on Wednesday while in a car at Pipiol Road in Santa Cruz.

Police have described this area as a crime hot spot.

Investigators on the scene said they were told that the men were in a silver Nissan Tiida when gunmen opened fire on them.

A video has gone viral on social media showing two of the men slumped in the front and back seats of the car with what appeared to be bullet wounds. One video shows a third victim in nearby bushes while another shows a fourth man being fanned and a woman’s voice telling someone to keep pressure on his wound.

Police said a fourth man was taken to hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

Preliminary reports suggest that the three dead men were known to be associated with reputed gang leader Vaughn “Sandman” Mieres who was slain along with his wife and two bodyguards in Las Cuevas last week.
