27 Arrested for Covid-19 Breaches

EIGHT Venezuelans are among 27 people arrested for breaching Covid-19 in Sangre Grande and Valencia between Friday and Saturday.

They were held in an exercise conducted by officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station and Valencia Police Post during  6 pm on Friday and 12.30 am on Saturday in Sangre Grande and Valencia.

The 27 were arrested for gathering in a public place where the number exceeded ten, in breach of the Public Health Ordinance 2021, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated on Saturday.

It stated that a bar owner was also arrested for allowing consumption on the premises of his business place along the Southern Main Road, Sangre Grande.

Three persons were also arrested for driving under the influence and a 43-year-old Valencia man was held on an outstanding warrant, the release stated.

The exercise was supervised by acting Insp Kistow and Sgts Johnson, Garcia and Scipio.
