THE 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) bowls off on August 28 and concludes on October 6.

The final will take place at the National Stadium in Providence, Guyana for the third consecutive year.

This year’s tournament will feature matches in Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago, a release from the CPL stated on Monday.

This scheduling ensures that the CPL window does not clash with West Indies fixtures, the release noted.

Chief Executive Officer of the Republic Bank CPL Pete Russell expressed his satisfaction with the tournament’s schedule, emphasising the opportunity it provides for showcasing the talents of the region’s best players. Russell also highlighted successful discussions with other cricket leagues, enabling CPL franchises to secure the participation of top international players without scheduling conflicts experienced in 2023.

“We are very pleased that this window allows the CPL to give the best players from the Caribbean the opportunity to showcase their talents,” said Pete Russell.

He said, “As always, we would like to thank Cricket West Indies for their help and support in finding a window that works so well for all stakeholders.”

Cricket West Indies CEO Johnny Grave said, “We are pleased to have once again worked closely with the CPL to strategically prioritise this window so that all West Indian cricketers can participate in the full CPL tournament once again.”

With the 2024 CPL following closely after hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the region, Grave said there was the opportunity for fans to enjoy world-class T20 cricket and for regional governments to benefit from increased cricket-generated economic activity.
