MORE than 200,000 Covid-19 vaccines will arrive in Trinidad and Tobago next month.
This was revealed by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley at a press conference on Saturday at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s.
He said 200,000 Sinopharm vaccines will arrive in early July as well the third and last tranche of 33,600 doses from the COVAX facility.
Dr Rowley said the 800,000 Johnson and Johnson vaccines from the African Medical Supply Platform is on schedule to arrive at the end of August.
He said that T&T will also receive 4,000 vaccines from St Vincent and the Grenadines which will expire shortly and will be used as second doses. St Vincent has already donated AstraZeneca vaccines to T&T.
Dr Rowley said CARICOM was in talks with the United States of America concerning the donation of vaccines.
He said he was confident that the Caribbean was separated from the arrangement and included Latin America and will be getting vaccines and an announcement will be made in the near future.
