TWO prison officers have been shot dead, hours apart in Siparia and Central Trinidad.
In Siparia, Nigel Jones was killed by two men around 1.30 pm on Monday.
Reports are that he was shot multiple times from behind. The shooters escaped in a vehicle.
In Central, Prison Officer Sunil Latchmansingh was also shot dead.
He is the third prison officer to be killed in four days.
Last Friday, Prison Officer II Trevor Serrette was killed while at a fruit stall in Valencia.
Three gunned down in Laventille
Two teenagers and another man were shot dead on Monday.
Dead are Javon Charles and Josiah Francis, both aged 17—and another unidentified man.
Reports are that Francis and another man were at Charles’ home in Desperlie Crescent around 11.30 am when a Nissan B-15 Sentra with two men pulled up. The men got out of the vehicle and opened fire on Francis and the other man.
They died on the spot.
The gunmen then found Charles and shot at him also killing him immediately.
They then fled in the vehicle.
Police officers from the Besson Street Police Station and Inter-Agency Task Force visited the scene.
