Three suspects were arrested while one firearm and quantities of ammunition and drugs seized by officers during several anti-crime exercises conducted across the country on Wednesday.
In the first incident, officers of the North Eastern Division Gang Investigations Unit conducted an exercise between 11 am and 1 pm, in the Aranguez district.
During the exercise, officers arrested an 18-year-old man of Tunapuna for possession of one Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 12 rounds of ammunition.
Officers of the Pinto Police Post conducted an Operation Blue Line exercise yesterday, between 5 pm and 9 pm in the district, during which they proceeded to an abandoned apartment in the vicinity of Boodoo Avenue.
There, the officers conducted a search which resulted in the discovery of 119 packages containing 64 kilogrammes of marijuana.
And in the Northern Division, Area South, Task Force officers conducted an exercise between 10 am and 2 pm, yesterday, during which they stopped a silver Nissan Tiida motor vehicle with two male occupants in the Aranguez district.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding four, five-litre plastic bottles containing ecstasy.
Two men, ages 22 and 24 of Tobago were arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
