1 Death, 70 New Covid-19 Cases Reported

THERE have been 70 new cases and one death related to Covid-19 reported by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning.

The death is that of an elderly female with comorbidities, the Ministry of Health stated in its latest update.

It stated that the new positive cases reported were taken from samples during the period August 28 to September 7.

There were now 38 Covid-19 deaths reported in Trinidad and Tobago.

Number of Samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency and the University of the West Indies testing site at Mt Hope: 25,400

Number of people tested: 22,478

People having more than one test: 2,922

Positive samples in public and private facilities in TT: 2,347

Active Covid-19 cases: 1,566

Patients in home isolation: 1,338

Number of Deaths: 38

Discharges: 743

Patients in home isolation: 1,358

Covid-19 Patients in hospital – 100

Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility:  75 (six in the intensive care unit and 11 in the high dependency unit)

Caura Hospital: 25

Patients in in stepdown facilities – 38

UWI Debe Campus: 5

UWI Freedom Hall: 32

National Academy for the Performing Arts: 1
