Police Find Marijuana in Pick-up, Knapsack

A 45-year-old Rio Claro man has been held by police after marijuana was found in his pick-up on Monday.

A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that on Monday the man was held during an anti-crime exercise by the Central Division Crime Unit in Bamboo.

During the exercise spearheaded by acting Senior Superintendent Hunte and acting ASP Smith, officers stopped and searched a gold Mazda BT-50 pick-up truck at Banboo #3 Boulevard.

They found one kilogramme of marijuana in a brown plastic bag inside the vehicle.

Later on that day, the same party of officers received intelligence, went to Orange Grove in Tacarigua near to the Eddie Hart Grounds and found a knapsack containing 6.2 kilogrammes of marijuana worth $72,000.
