Akani “Dole” Adams was killed in shootout with police on Thursday.
Adams was fatally shot with another man only identified as “Bull.”
Initial reports suggest they were killed in an altercation with the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) in Sea Lots.
Adams and his close associate Cedric “Burkie” Burke, a well-known community leader, were arrested by police on July 21 but were released the next day.
Adams was a person of interest in the murder of WPC Nyasha Joseph and made headlines last year when he purchased a $700,000 Range Rover in cash.
