Two other games saw draws with Internazionale sharing points with Slavia Prague in a game that ended one goal a piece. Lyon at home to Zenit St Petersburg could only must a 1-1 draw.

Napoli beat Liverpool 2-nil at home while Ajax scored three times against Lille who could not find the back of the net.

RB Leipzig got the better of Benfica with 2 away goals to 1.

Chelsea went down 0-1 to Valencia with Christian Pulisic on the bench and Ross Barkley hitting the bar from the penalty spot.
