Ahye Wins 100m at Open Track for 4th Year

For the fourth year in a row sprinter Michelle-Lee Ahye has won the women’s 100 metres event at the NGC/NAAATT Open Track and Field Championship at the Hasely Crawfors Stadium in Mucurapo on Saturday.

She finished in a time of 11.18 seconds running in lane four. Second was Kellyann Baptiste in 11.22 seconds with Kamaria Durant third in 11.30 seconds.

In the men’s 100m, Keston Bledman won running out of lane six in a time of 10.20 seconds. Jareem Richards was second with Rondell Sorillo third as both clocked 10.23 seconds.

And Machel Cedeno out ran the field as expected in the men’s 400 metres in a time of 46.31 seconds. Seconds was Dwight St Hillaire in 46.08 seconds followed by Darren Alfred with 46.63 for the bronze medal.

In the Women’s Hammer event, Diamond Thomas got gold for her distance of 46.78 metres while Gabriel Guerra took first place in the men’s equivalent for this throw of 34.4 metres.
